Graffiti Writers BUSTED!!

^Rusia hits this freeway spot back over the summer--The city claims this piece alone costs $25,000 in damage.

Police orchestrated 3 early morning raids to bust to graffiti writers, Rusia and Aldoe . . .

Rusia and Aldoe are brothers, and both members of the OTR crew.

While both writers are prolific, it seems the arrest is a mere publicity stunt. We are assuming the city needed some funding, and a culprit, and these graffiti writers tragically fit the bill.

We think its real bullshit that so much time and resources goes towards prosecuting artists, or even vandals. A friend who had their car stolen recently was told by the police that the car would only be recovered if it "turned up". And speaking from personal experience, we were robbed at gunpoint a block off of Melrose 6 months ago. We got a partial license plate AND later a phone number that called from a phone that was stolen--we passed both pieces of information onto the cops, and never even heard back from them. We feel that it is really shameful that so much effort is put into early morning raids of graffiti writers, when true criminals hardly get any notice.

Anyway, police say that in addition to graffiti equipment, the raids also revealed pills of ecstasy and high grade marijuana. It sounds like a good time- while it lasted~
