Andre Loves Annabelle!
French street artist Andre goes BIG on Melrose with his love for Annabelle, and graffiti.
French street artist Andre is one of the biggest names in the street art world, and the guy has earned it. His crazy faced character was one of the first unusual pieces of 'graffiti' (there wasn't really the common term 'street art' at the time) that caught our eye years ago in Miami. He was also featured in Banksy's Exit Through the Gift Shop as he, Space Invader, and MBW hit the town on scooters. And Andre has been one of the most successful street artists transitioning from the streets into mainstream commercial success. And, as this piece shows, all the while staying true to the streets.
Apparently, this is dedicated to Andre's real life love Annabelle Dexter-Jones (pictured below).
Andre has had a character riding on the opposite side of this building for years, and he goes BIG with this Annabelle bubble letter rooftop piece on Melrose. In the middle of the 'A' it says 'Love Graffiti'. And, for good measure, he adds a pink face above the big piece, which will probably last long after the big piece is buffed.
We are curious as to exactly how he managed to paint his as the top of the letters appear to be 11 feet or so off the lower level.
