Is Banksy Back In California!?
Someone goes BIG on the Matilija Dam in Ventura County with a 28 foot pair of painted scissors. The style does seem to follow Banksy's previous 'Cut It Out' pattern.
The piece is HUGE. It features a hand painted pair of scissors. The scissors themselves are 28 feet long and hand painted on the massive 200 foot damn.
There are some strong feelings about the dam as well, as most people agree that it should come down--the only question is how that should happen?
You can read more about the story and the issues surrounding the dam at VCStar.
This is a very impressive piece of graffiti. Our personal opinion is that it is not Banksy, but that should not take away from the impressiveness of the piece. This is an incredible piece of art, and one that is packed with meaning.
Dig it. Stay up!
***Thanks to Carlos for sending in the story***
