Leo--glad you found my photos (those are from my Flickr feed). Yep, I spotted it back then...couldn't believe it! I remember that there was one on the side of the 405 at the Wilshire overpass also near Westwood, but that's been gone for years.
Yeah, simple Google search, but I had to go through a few pages of results to get to them. Do you know if it went up in 2009? Or even earlier? I wouldn't have been aware of him back then (I was barely aware of Banksy) but now that I am, I'm glad I can still see some of his work. And too bad the one on the 405 is gone. I've traveled under that overpass a lot over the years - even just walking - and never noticed a thing.
Anyway, my friend happened to glance up and spotted it. I'm glad I had my camera with me, and I'm glad it's been up all this time. This and an old Shepard Fairey "Obey" on La Brea near Beverly have taught me to look up more. 8-)
That's rare. a niece piece out in the "wild" untouched.
ReplyDeleteWow not everyone is an asshole, that tags over it or takes it off the wall.
Here are some pics from 2009 that I had dug up:

It's pretty high up, so if someone wanted to deface it or take it down, they'd have to be a really motivated asshole.
