Happy Birthday Vincent Van Gogh - Public Interruption
Today, March 30th, is Vincent Van Gogh's birthday. And to celebrate this day, street artist Snyder orchestrated a public interruption with a statue next to the beach. This was extremely well done. Click the jump for more
The overhaul of the statue was comprehensive and multi-faceted. The 'improvements' include a severed ear, Absinthe bottle, sunflowers and card are at the base. In addition, the statue is decked out in full costume. It even had an easel was welded on! And on that easel there is a painting of the view from the sculpture in a post impressionism style.
In addition, 6 paper mache crows are scatted around the sculpture and in the intersection.
We have seen some amazing pieces from Snyder recently. Each has meaning on many different levels, and this piece is absolutely brilliant.
