The piece in question "you make me sick" was not aimed at Free or any one in particular. It is aimed at society and the culture. The word " you" is both a plural and singular pronoun.
I am not disrespecting Free. The street is not a sacred place. The Mr. Men Pieces are hand made and thoughtful. Maybe that's why they appear on the website. Thanks for listening. pastey whyte
I don't look at this as a sign of disrespect whatsoever...it actually looks good and so does the placement. Placing art on or near someone else's art is a sign of respect or acknowledgment of their work....meaning that this persons shit is recognized and therefore so will mine(especially by getting on this blog and all the other blogs popping up). On the other hand, when assholes blatantly cap people...that becomes a sign of disrespect. If you put something on the center or main focus of the artists medium then you are asking for trouble....or you are just a dumbass. It has been done to me a few times and when you have never met me, it will create some hostility when I finally do meet you. I try and respect other artist's and their work but, when doing some of these things in the dark...it is hard not to touch or overlap some of the art. I also believe you should wait your turn for some of the prime spots to get buffed or just find another spot all together....and we all know there are plenty of those. All in all, this "street art movement" needs to cool off a little before it turns into "paste banging" which would be an embarrassment for all of us out there....by the way, the BC cares...
quite fitting~
