Mr. Brainwash Saves Street Art

Mr. Brainwash saves street art, quite literally.

A lot of people have been grumbling about how the community art contributed for 'Art Show 2011' is set to be destroyed at the close of the show, and some people might not like to seeing how the outside had to get buffed. But if people could be there to actually hear what Mr. Brainwash says about the art and its temporary nature, it would be very difficult to hold a grudge.

The police ordered that Mr. Brainwash remove the visible art and graffiti from the outside of the building and the neighboring building, and even though it would have been extremely simple to just paint over the art on the wall and buff it, Mr. Brainwash was painstakingly trying to remove each wheat paste by hand so that it could be brought inside and still be part of the art show.

These are pictures of Mr. Brainwash trying to peel off BNW, Comma the Comm, and an unknown past saying 'Be Kind'.

Some of the posters were kind of falling apart by the time they were taken off the wall, but Mr. Brainwash was not deterred and planned to make some sort of collage out of the remaining pieces.

Mr. Brainwash is really going out of his way to respect other artists and include the art in the show. And the whole reason he called M&F back out was to make sure that we were able to document the art on the walls before it was gone. Dig it, and much more to come!

  2. I am upset that the green face up in the first wall is going to be erased, after we traveled more than 4 hours to get to the gallery and paint it. It’s a shame that the people don’t appreciate all that is being done.

Thanks for everything Mr. Brainwash ♥
