Vote for the Winners of Snyder's Mushroom Photo Contest
Snyder has received the entrants for his 'Mushroom Photo Contest'. The pictures from the winners are posted below. Snyder is asking the members of the community to vote for the winner!
Congrats to all the finalists for locating all the bloomin' shrooms. Full voting details below!
Snyder Mushroom Photo Contest
5 mushroom clusters, each colored differently in my signature drip
technique, were placed in the streets as art, but more importantly, as
muses inspiring the creative process. Each cluster posed like a model for
professional and amateur photographers to capture.
In the comments below, vote for your favorite contest finalist. Please
include the reasoning for your chosen entry.
The entry with the most votes will win an original drip painting.

I vote for Gud Stuf Photography. I love the way the images are shot through an old camera. The colors really pop and the square format gives the photos a great vintage look.
ReplyDeleteAll of my flicks were taken with this piece of wood in my right foot for 8 days!!

hahahah the comic book one is the best. Tales from Synder lol
ReplyDeleteHunters is good but looks like he used to much photo shop, my vote is for shaun hoff because of the creativity of using a comic book and the "BUFF!" at the end was funny as hell, gotta watch out for the buff monsters!
ReplyDeletehunter photography has the old school style and the colors pop out more than the others
ReplyDelete~b
I like Kristen Perman's photos. They look old and different than typical photos. What camera was used?
ReplyDeletei vote for Gud Stuf and the cool framing
ReplyDeleteDamn. I forgot to submit mine. LOL. After all that hunting too. Sheesh. Damn jobbity job has me way too busy! I don't know if I can vote because 2 of the peeps are dear friends of mine and I can't choose between them.
ReplyDeleteKristin, Gud and Hunter all used their iphones and therefore should not be considered
ReplyDeleteMr. ED
ReplyDeleteNO Photoshop used at all!!!
It's all about having the right exposure settings sir. I NEVER set anything to Automatic! If I had more time I would have busted out a tripod and set a long exposure but I had to get to my foot DR by 4:00...
I flicked the pieces then went to a foot specialist to get this 2.5 inch piece of wood out of my foot that was in there for 8 days...
Flicked the Shrooms then went straight to DR Tucker to remove this thing....NO TIME FOR PHOTOSHOP!

And to the sassy comment above about iPhones...

NOT an iphone!
Can we vote on Alissa Rose Imagery? That one is perfect. I love the fading person in the background
ReplyDeleteeh.... at least the comic book one used a little imagination, that gets my vote.
ReplyDeleteBUFF MONSTER! comic book lol
ReplyDeletePardon, my name is Susan Vasconcelos and I shoot as Gud Stuf Photography. Sadly, as much as i hate to admit it- I DON'T OWN AN IPHONE nor do I shoot instagram or any other phone thingamajiggie and claim it as a contest entry. I shoot with my professional dslr and lenses through a contraption i made and then through a vintage duaflex camera. This process is called TvV (through the viewfinder) Other then the square crop and flipping the image (the old camera shoots in reverse), i didn't do any work to it. If you see me out and about shooting street art as I am prone to do, please feel free and stop me so I can show you how it all works- I guess you could call it analog instagram? I've been doing it for about 5 years now so I think it might pre-date the app. Thanks for hatin though! Have a nice day :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck to all photogs, it was alot of fun hunting
1 Vote for Gud Stuf!
ReplyDeletehunters flicks are the best out of these. found that fools flickr a few weeks ago but da melrose&fairfax blog and hunter photography post more flicks than any other La graff/street art blog in da game these fools hold it down in LA covering all over LA from da 818 to downtown LA
ReplyDeleteShaun Hoff because of the creativity of putting it in a comic setting
ReplyDeleteNot a camera phone, but thanks for hating, and anonymously too! I shot with expired Polaroid film, Spectra Image film to be exact, with my Polaroid Spectra camera. The white frame is cropped when scanned, but the images are as you see them, no enhancing or correcting, instant shots taken for the fun of a good scavenger hunt.
ReplyDeleteWay boss, Kristen. You get my vote!!
DeleteAs a comic book lover, i love the comic book guy.
ReplyDeletehunters pics got the best colors poppin and the paint drip steeze really stands out the best on hunters pics
ReplyDelete~k
hunters looks like a cheap iphone app. STEFAN!
ReplyDeletecomic book one.
ReplyDeleteI moved to SF from Hollywood 4 months ago 4 art school but I met that foo hunter flicking a wall in LA in the summer and added him on flickr and thats how I first found out about the Snyder art was from hunter photography's flickr so that foo gets my vote
ReplyDeletecomic book one ripped off M&F "Get up, Stay Up" quote
ReplyDeleteno one else noticed that?
womp womp womp
Why are all of hunters votes from gettho ass talking people "that foo!!" , and GET UP STAY UP FOR LIFE! i like when people show respect by useing stuff from M&F!
ReplyDeleteShauns photos aren't the best, but I love his presentation. Something about Kristens photos catches my eye. Hunters are a trip. The black background works perfectly with Gud Stuff. Overall I vote Kristen
ReplyDeleteGud Stuf
ReplyDeleteNice use of older format films, plus I like how some of the surroundings were included in the photographs WITH the paintings, not JUST the painting themselves.
The Alissa Rose is perfect.
The Alissa Rose or the shaun with the get up stay up
ReplyDeleteshaun comic book one if i had to vote.
ReplyDeleteGud Stuff all the way. I'm familiar with the TTV process and hers came out wonderfully! Very creative!
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for Kristen. I really like the muted colors of the film. Makes the mushrooms look very 1970's vintage. Cool!
ReplyDeleteI love how Kristen used the white (blank) space as a part of her composition. The old aesthetic works very well.
ReplyDeleteI really love the photo at the top by Alissa Rose, but since she is not part of the competition... I'll have to go with Kristen. The faded style and that little shadow on the red wall are really cool. Also - props to Snyder for creating such great artwork! Snyder-man RULES!
ReplyDeletehunters photos have the old timey look and the colors stand out like your trippin on mushrooms
ReplyDeleteReo
Kristens looks like it was taken in the old west. i dont really like any of them besides the main photo one, but if i had to pick one the comic book is pretty funny.
ReplyDeleteThe only person who did not just TAKE PHOTOS was shaun, so he gets my vote.
ReplyDeleteThe comic book one is fun! my vote.
ReplyDeletethe old west ahahahahha , id pick comic book one too
ReplyDeleteAlissa by FAR! that is considered ART.
ReplyDeletewow.... sounds like a bunch of plants.... How about 1 Vote per customer?
ReplyDeletehunter
ReplyDeleteTales From Snyder Art is creative and he photographed the buffed piece. I saw that one before the buff. it was my favorite! I vote for comic!
ReplyDeleteToo bad Alissa Rose didn't photograph all of them... ;)
ReplyDeleteMy vote will have to go to Good Stuff. I like how they photographed a little bit of the surroundings, which I think adds extra character.
