While Shepard Fairey was working on his new mural on La Brea, Dan MSK came by with some old school Obey prints to get signed. Shepard graciously agreed to sign the prints.
Dan brought 3, including an Obama HOPE poster. Dan said that the first two are probably more than ten years old. He said that Shepard hooked him up when the used to run into each other around Alameda and 3rd when Dan was down there to paint, and Shepard was putting up pastes.
Dan said that at the time, Shepard was the only one doing anything like what has grown into current street art movement, which is a testament to how Fairey helped pioneer this genre.
Keep those old prints. And stay up!
