Here's a short video capturing Teacher's dropping off of his 'News Monster Box'.
As we have mentioned before, the box is meant to symbolize the decrease in funding for education, lack of available computers, and the end of printed word.
You can
check out the video HERE.
Is the daytime drop with the orange cones and vest really necessary? Guy is just looking for attention.
ReplyDeleteCould have made the same drop in the middle of the night without all the corny props.
^ In that spot - across the street from the LAPD headquarters building - if you drop something in the middle of the night, it will be gone by the next morning and nobody will even see it... and in that area an orange vest and cone is like camouflage...... dumbass.
ReplyDeletecalm down banksy
ReplyDeleteFirst guy is right, desperate attempt for attention. This would easily make it through the night and even the next day. A night drop is much better. And if he's not looking for attention... Then why the video camera??? Period.
ReplyDeletebanksy wannabe
ReplyDeleteThere is a cop in the video. Upper right part of the screen on the same side of the street walking away. Be careful, you don't want their attention!
ReplyDeletenov 8 is my parents anniversary and my brother's birthday. recently instead of getting them gifts i do art projects in their honor - this time it was the monster box. nov 3rd was the only time i could make it down town to drop off the box before nov 8. did it during the day because i wanted to film it and have good lighting - mom n pops like watching videos in addition to seeing pics. yes there was a policeman walking across the street in front of me as i pulled up. he was looking at me as he was walking because i stopped in a red curb zone. after i put on my 'city worker' vest and grabbed a cone he quit looking and continued walking, so even though i was experiencing a sphincter paralyzer with my heart beating visibly outside of my chest, i decided to go ahead and drop it... big thanks to my wife for filming - i wish all you guys and ladies could be as lucky as i am to have someone that is so loving and supportive of street art as my wife is.

thanks broham for the dedication, that rocks! you are always on the cutting edge

dude, you've got nothing to be afraid of dropping that. you're not defacing anyone's property, you're leaving something that you made. for all they know, you bought the paperbox on craigslist
ReplyDeleteoverkill, you're right i really didn't have anything to be afraid of looking back. these days i get jumpy when i'm around cops even if i'm not up to something - i've had a few bad experiences. i didn't realize the lapd building was right across the street from the la times building until we got down there, so that added more drama than was really there. i was just afraid of the low chance a snoopy cop having a bad day coming by asking too many questions... i get a stomach ache just seeing an empty billboard because i'm already nervous about hitting it... i'll work on being less drama and more art.

just be you and it's all good.
ReplyDeletekeep doing what your doing....at the end of the day we are all art family. no need for hatred. we are all loving the same thing...the beauty and message of ART! ♥
