Teach Peace -- Thrashbird Style!
Teacher and Thrashbird team up on an impressive billboard takeover. The piece features a modified billboard with Thor now saying 'Teach Peace -- Thrashbird Style!'.
As if bombing a billboard in Hollywood weren't impressive enough, there are two things that are particularly noteworthy about this particular takeover. First, notice the life size model on the billboard, posed as if trying to snap a cell phone picture of Thor. Nice work, and also crazy to see the how tiny the actual is when compared to a billboard. The other thing is the screen on the cell phone. Even though it looks like it, its not a real cell phone, Teacher actually painted the screen image! Dang! Talk about attention to the smallest detail on a massive scale.
If you want to see this piece in person, you can catch it along the way to Bankrupt Slut's show tonight in Burbank because this piece is on Cahuenga Blvd.
Dig it. Stay up!

Teacher is spreadin' his message of love all over. With a fresh new giant stencil piece in Norther California saying 'All You Need Is the Right Kind of Love'.
Teacher is like LA's Banksy, and one of the few street artists around cutting floating stencils like this one.
Stay up and keep teachin' love!~

Teacher and the 8er
Teacher had some fun with his custom made 8er spray paint video. Yup, this is a fully functional custom device Teacher designed to spray many cans at once.
The 8er is actually Teacher's 9er, but with 8 cans loaded.
Check out Teach's short teaser video of the 8er in action.

Teacher - Rush to Teach Peace
Banksy is big news, but back in Los Angeles the art marches on as always.
Teacher just smashed a hot new billboard on Melrose, modifying it to say 'Rush to Teach Peace!'.
Teach hit this spot in honor of his brother and sister-in-law's 15 year anniversary.

Teacher & Chod - Church of None of This is Real Video
Teacher and Chod just released a video capturing all the action around their recent project, the 'Church of None of This is Real'.
This new video captures the full life span of the Church from the artists describing their motivations, to the building & decorating the piece, and then finally putting it out on the streets (and seeing people's reactions).
The story line is complete except for the ending. Anyone know where the church ended up?

Chod & Teacher - Roving Church Finds a New Home on Melrose
Earlier, M&F posted pics of this custom made art church from Teacher and Chod in front of LACMA. Well, that was not the final resting spot for the Church of None of This is Real. The 'Church' got moved to Melrose and Gardner, where it has found its final home.
Chod also sent over an explanation of the piece. Chod says 'I use the phrase None Of This Is Real in several pieces. In some cases it can be metaphorical but in this case it's literal. The statement, when placed on a church and over the words of the Christian Bible is meant to illustrate the fact that both organized religion and every word of the Bible (or any other text on which any religion is based) are constructs created by us. There is no truth in any of it nor is there a god of any kind. None of this is real.'
Dig it. Love how this piece hits on so many levels. As a visual art piece, it is truly striking and impressive. And Chod's explanation demonstrates how the the entire meaning was well conceived.
Click the jump for a HUGE 20+ pictorial, including close up shots of the background pasted Bible verses.

Teacher & Chod - The Church of 'None of This is Real'
This Sunday, make good use of your time. Don't go to traditional church. That place is full of small minded haters.
Instead, come join Teacher and Chod at the Church of 'None of This is Real'.~ Its the only church M&F will be found worshipping at!
The God from the Bible says "Thou shall place no false idols before me", but this piece is worth worshipping. Seriously, check this out! This installation is a giant--large enough for a human to walk into. This thing is solid, because it is made out of wood. And even though the walls look red, the under layer is composed of actual pages from the Bible.
These pictures have the Church situated in front of the light pole installation at LACMA. Why? Because this is true art.

You'll Never Know What Funny Can Do
Teacher gets up on another billboard. The billboard already says 'You'll Never Know What Funny Can Do', and Teacher came and added a thought bubble that says 'Please Teach Peace'.
At the bottom Teacher added 'for Stanley' in honor of Teach's recently deceased friend, Stanley Dashew.

Teach Tributes Cope
Teacher continues on with his 'Teach Art' tribute series. This one features New York graffiti banger Cope 2.
Once again, the stenciled image was created by Teacher's brain, not Photoshop.

Teacher - Street Art Carcass
Teacher catches another stencil along an entrance to the 101 freeway in Northern California.
Check out the carcass with only bones left from some not-too-small animal which decomposed at this very spot.

Teacher - All You Need is the Right Kind of Gloves
Teacher gets up at a camping sign post in Northern California.
Teach stenciled up his signature logo, a JFK stencil, and another saying 'All You Need is the Right Kind of Love'.
Then, someone came along and modified the original, adding a 'g' in front of love. Now it reads 'All You Need is the Right Kind of Gloves', and guess there's some truth to that, as well~
Stay up, with gloves and love!

All You Need is the Right Kind of Love
After a sidewalk stencil from Plastic Jesus got tagged over by another red stencil saying Banksy = $$$$, Plastic Jesus got some help from a friend, Teacher.
Instead of directly capping it back, Teacher came along and got up on the sidewalk next to it with a blue stencil that says 'All you need is the right kind of love'.
That mantra is something that Teacher believes in deeply and applies to his own life. Indeed, it is the same words from the tattoo going up Teacher's arm.
Dig it. Keep teachin' the right kind of love!

Street Art is NOT Boring
Teacher took offense to the 'Boring' pasters going up on eboxes around Los Angeles.
And so, to illustrate that street art is not boring, Teacher painted over the boring in white and added a fresh new stencil of an adult cradling a child.
Dig it. Stay not boring!
