Domo - From Graffiti Walls to 7 Eleven
M&F contributor Blubuni sent in this pic of of some Domo graffiti flicked in Echo Park (shown below). Sick style, and absolutely love the color poppin on the letters.
The letters spell 'Domo', and on the left of the letters is a Domo character, looking exactly like the character that was used for Target and 7 Eleven marketing campaigns. Not sure exactly what the history is here. Guessing that Doma developed the character through his art, and then sold the marketing rights.
The graffiti is pretty awesome, but seeing it made me want a hot dog. On one hand, congrats to the artist for making it. On the other, this example sure does show that the perception of art changes with the corporate use of a character.
