Teacher Goes BIG Mixing Street Art & Hollywood
This piece is so Hollywood.
Street artists go big all the time, and at some point nearly every street artist will put art on an electrical box, but this is the biggest any street artist has ever gone on an electrical box. Its the biggest ever, because Teacher constructed a 33% larger size model e-box.
It is hard to tell from the above pic (although the ones below have better size comparison), but this box is HUGE. It stands about 7 feet tall and its girth is big all the way around.
It is said that the electrical boxes are the billboard canvases for street artists in LA, and the root of this piece is so Hollywood, because Teacher composed this box and painted it green to serve as a 'green screen'. Teacher says that the giant e-box is meant to show support for artists in the Visual Effects Solidarity International--these are the guys who create all the special effects in the movies using a green screen. Teacher used a power box to show the power of VFX in the movies.
Teacher hopes that this box will serve as a green screen blank canvas for artists and get decorated on the street. Also notice how the giant e-box is fully functional, and the doors open to reveal the art still riding on the original e-box underneath.
Yet another unique and impressive piece from Teacher.
Dig it. Stay up!~
