Banksy Given a (Village) Voice
Banksy just had an interview published with New York's Village Voice magazine where Banksy explains some of the motivations for his New York street art, art show.
Its a great read, and good to hear that Banksy seems to champion most of the same principles that M&F has been expounding in relation to the streets, especially Banksy's reinforcing the idea that street art should be in the streets. Its all packaged in Banksy's signature biting wit. Love the line "When graffiti isn't criminal, it loses most of its innocence".
Oh, and keep an eye out for some yet-to-be-seen large scale sculptures to appear on the streets of New York.
***Also, for all the folks clamoring for a Banksy print, the cover of the Village Voice features some collaborative artwork between Banksy and Os Gemeos, resulting in a pretty awesome *free* print. Dig the image~***
