Free Humanity - New Work

Free Humanity put out a plethora of new work the last few days.

We are big fans of the Free Humanity campaign, and as always are impressed by the veracity of getting up, but some of this recent campaign we really dig, and some just has us puzzled on the nature of the message and street art communication.

Right in front of the Obey/Saber American Flag installation at De La Barracuda, Free Humanity adds his version to the mix.

Featuring grenades for stars and missiles in the stripes.

Clearly, we are big fans of Free, but what's up with all this going over?

We dig the wheat paste, but we also dig the winged-microphone that got covered up in the say/spray.

And we still don't get the relevance of the saying to the piece?

We are really puzzled by this one? Why in the world?!

Michael Jackson stencil, and doves

Che-Bama dollar bill. We think this is pure money. Some people might joke about selling out, but if you're putting money on the streets, as far as we are concerned, it is straight ballin~

Free Humanity uses a page from the Book of Psalms as a backdrop for a Lotus flower. This was then pasted on Melrose.

We are a bit puzzled by the utilization of the Bible. As far as we are concerned, the last thing the streets need is anything religious.

"The whole conception of a God is a conception derived from the ancient oriental despotisms. It is a conception quite unworthy of free men.... We ought to stand up and look the world frankly in the face. We ought to make the best we can of the world, and if it is not so good as we wish, after all it will still be better than what these others have made of it in all these ages."-Bertrand Russell

  1. My true religion, my simple faith is in love and compassion.
There is no need for complicated philosophy, doctrine, or dogma.
Our own heart, our own mind, is the temple.
    The doctrine is compassion.
Love for others and respect for their rights and dignity, no matter who or what they are - these are ultimately all we need.

  2. Love the work, but could not agree more about respecting the work of others as well.

  4. i dont know i think the lotus flower on the bible really doesnt signify disrespect to the christian/catholic community.
but instead promotes the fact that we are all humans first and that we set these barriers of race and religion after wards. transcendence.
