Snyder - The Carlsbad Toreador
An amazing new piece of street art from Snyder which parts of the environment, and the elements. Snyder also made a video for the installation. Click the link to check it out.
This is a super impressive new piece from Snyder called the Carlsbad Toreador. Snyder said that he had to wait 3 months until the wind was right to launch the project and make the red 'cape' blow.
The artwork on the installation is amazing, and the city of Carlsbad seemed to like it as well. It was left up for more than 2 weeks before being removed by city workers.
Snyder also made a great video which shows the piece moving and dancing in the wind. And, like usual, Snyder's video incorporates both his art, and local music from the area. You can check out the video HERE.
Snyder put together some thoughts about this piece you can read below:
PROJECT STATEMENT: Some regard the bullfight as a tradition just as
culturally important as other forms of art including painting, dance and
music. I combine the deadly dance of the bullfight with the act of
painting and the variable of weather in my latest public art installation
implemented in the streets of Carlsbad, CA.
Dig it. Stay up~
