GoneMOCA just got up all over LA with an installation of 100 hand painted cubes.
These are highly collectible and most get taken soon after being discovered. Placed from Malibu to Melrose, keep your eyes peeled for Gone's boxes, before they are gone.~
There's exactly 100? Crazy. & they get taken after they're put up? There are a good 5-7 up on the main strip in silverlake that've been there for quite some time.
ReplyDeleteHave a few cubes, always felt a bit guilty for taking them but its better then letting the city buff em out...
ReplyDelete^keep tellin yourself that^
Deletei think you should alter the cubes a bit and put them back up somewheres.
ReplyDeletegone rocks. or cubes. ~danlevin.com
ReplyDeleteI sold one for $86 on ebay after a very intense bidding war. Who woulda thought! I can't believe I make a living off selling la street art I find in the street.
ReplyDeleteI have been looking on ebay, cant find any....
ReplyDeleteif anyone has any links I would like to get some more.
Leave street art in the streets its not there for you to (make a living!)
DeleteI am actually pretty sure the artist would want you to take it and start a bidding war. This is crazy guerilla marketing. The more people steal adn buy and sell the more it becomes a big deal. I am not sure if this artist sells in galleries or if he is already famous and has made oodles of money. But for his art to become a discussion of morality and bring so much community dialogue it is only going to make him more famous and build his reuptation and the value of his work if people steal it, deface it, argue about stealing it, sell it on ebay. from my research he is a California phenom and this could be a good opprotunity for him to gain attention from a wider audience.
