With the way that the once secret world of graffiti has become readily accessible through the openness of the internet, it can be difficult to connect back with the true organic roots of graffiti.

Zines are one of the last true throwback resources for authentic organic action.  A local LA zine just busted out featuring many LA heavyweights including DEEJ x MOVIE x NEWT x AVERI x KLEEN YO CHAKRAS x LARY x BLIGY x CHISTE x TWIST. 

The zine features a dope mix of flowers, graffiti action shots, and yoga.  Dig it~

This Dude Knows What's Up

This dude knows what's up.

He was sitting in this spot roasting a bowl as he watched M&F take pictures of the downtown graffiti.  The dude told us stories about how long each crew took to paint the big pieces around, and what the dudes looked like.  He said his favorite wall was the MSK bombed wall off 2nd street (?) in downtown.

Behind the dude is a slammed sticker combo spot with slaps from Cash for Your Warhol, Newt THR, Ralx, KE, and many, many more.

Dethkills puts up some of their own art on the streets for the first time in a long time.

Followers of the blog know that we have been unimpressed with Dethkills art-killing corporate campaigns in 2010. We have covered far more Dethkills putting advertisements over art and crossing stuff out than we have of their putting out art on the streets.

But apparently Dethkills is not without fans, and we have received 2 email submissions for Dethkills as crew of the year. We were rather astounded as we have seen absolutely nothing that would deserve Dethkills being mentioned this year.

It seems that their past efforts have earned the respect of some folks in LA, and we would like to see more of the art that brought that in the future.
