Jean Faucheur at Maximillian Gallery
A new show opening this weekend with French street artist 'Jean Faucheur' presenting works at The Maximillian Gallery at the Sunset Marquis.
Faucheur was a contemporary of Keith Herring and Basquiat in New York, and was even represented by the same art dealer. He was a pioneer instigating billboard takeovers on the streets of Paris in the late 70's and early 80's.
Faucheur is one of the pioneers of urban art in France and is considered as a key figure in the graffiti and urban arts.
Many may not be familiar with Faucheur's work, but the show is even being supported by the French Embassy and being blasted on their culture website.
For more info on Faucheur and the show details, be sure to click the link.
The Maximillian Gallery is also host to our tremendous, 'Best of LA' street art show that opens next month, and it is cool to see how the gallery is getting behind artists with street roots.
