Pieces Stolen from 'Art Show 2011'
A big scandal at 'Art Show 2011' was pieces being taken from the show. From what we hear, everything that wasn't nailed down got taken.
The word is that essentially every loose piece, and even some attached to the walls, got taken within the first hours of opening. Even Brainwash's stuff wasn't immune and reportedly one of his decorative pieces assembled out of paint cans was even broken apart.
We saw a handful of people walking around with slabs of the Desire Obtain Cherish Occupy Wall Street themed piece 'House of Cards', including the one pictured above. (You can check out the original HERE)

no shame hypebeast kids
ReplyDeleteI saw some crack head with a shopping cart on the second floor just taking things as he went by em..but no one stopped him, lol
ReplyDeleteall my art was stolen
ReplyDeleteLol.. Damn street kids.. You aim a show at a group of vandals and you get a group of vandals. As we should know by now vandals love to steal and write on shit. It's ironic that mbw makes his living off of the hype of vandalism and street art, and in return the streets take shit from his over hyped shows. It sucks for the artists but that's what happens when you partner up with an attention whore throwing a lame show.
ReplyDeleteshoulda known better next time keep your shit out
ReplyDeleteagreed ^^ plus 90% of the "artists" in there are attention whores themselves. very few are in it for the art these days
ReplyDeleteIt was sad to see him realize he was signing spray cans stolen out of his installations because he was too tired to think. And now they are up on Ebay. No mater what you think of his art, you have to respect the amount of work it takes to put on a large scale exhibition.
