Snyder Responds to Lister's 'Cap'

Snyder goes bananas!


The other day M&F posted about how Lister had painted a face over part of a Rocket Boy from Snyder on Melrose. Even though the blog didn't necessarily see it as a cap, most of the community seems to think that this Lister's placement was disrespectful and an affront to Snyder's piece. Well, Snyder responded immediately to Lister. He did it artfully in a way that answers back to Lister's paint job, and also does it in a way that shows a lot of 'local pride'.

In an obvious commentary on Lister's being in town to paint a commission wall for the Planet of the Apes dvd release, Snyder placed a monkey sitting next to a tag from Lister. The monkey is hanging on a pole and pointing back towards the Lister face, to which Snyder also added a banana over one of the eyes. It is made to looks as if the monkey threw the banana at the Lister piece.

Dig the way that Snyder expressed himself without fully capping the piece. It is also interesting to note the 'local pride' that Snyder exemplified. Lister is one of the biggest names int he world, but Snyder's response says big name or not, don't disrespect me in my MF'n neighborhood~
