Self Buffed

After seeing how folks got their underpants all up in a bunch over his naked trans-gender pasters, Thrashbird puts some commentary back on the streets which what look to be like self-censored, or, since its the streets, self-buffed versions of chicks with dicks.

Censorship Never Shows the Full Picture in Life

Censorship sucks.  This 'Finish Line' mural from Icy and Sot got censored because a few select members of the local Orthodox Jewish community felt that the runners shorts were too short.

It sounds ridiculous, especially since there was no sexual or suggestive content in the original mural.

It is sad when the lowest common denominator gets to determine what is allowed in society.  Most often times it is

This wall is a good visual example with only the arms and legs sticking out, to show how when one implements a personal program of self censorship, you are limiting yourself to the limbs of knowledge, and you never really view the full body of what is being said.

Sticker Censorship

This sticker is tiny, about 2 inches by 2 inches, and we aren't sure exactly what's going on, but we can see a pair of boobs with electrical tape over them. We don't like any censorship, and especially in this case!

Anti-Censorship Protest @ MOCA

Last night, a group of street art activists and veterans gathered in the parking lot of MOCA for an anti-censorship protest of curator Jeffery Deitch's recent whitewashing Blu's politically charged mural.

The protest featured laser graffiti projected onto MOCA's wall. The climax came when an image of Blu's work was projected on the screen with a big red 'Censored' on top of it.
