Pics From JR's Inside Out Exhibit (Pt. 3/3) - The Art
The presentation of JR's work at his exhibit, Inside Out really shows how the work goes beyond art and really impacts and influences people's lives. Click the jump for more
There are parts of the world that don't have cell phones or cameras. There are places in the world where identity is a much different thing than it is in America. The pictures from the JR's show demonstrate how JR's work not only serves as decoration, or 'art', but it gives the people in these places a real identity, something much different, and much more empowered than before.
And, in some of these spots, the pieces were also functional. Many of the rooftop canvases are made out of plastic and they serve to protect the people living there from the elements.
JR's show was amazing on many levels, and it really shows how powerful art can be.
