JR - Angry Old Man

A giant, larger-than-life paster from JR featuring an angry looking old man.

But this old man looks like quiet a character.  Guess that is one measure of successful art, something that changes the way people think about old people.  These are not old men.  Each is an old man with a lifetime of personal stories.

This piece has been riding since 2011 in Glendale.  Click the link for more pics

Dig it.  Stay up!

Black American Flag

An American flag that has half the white stripes replaced with black stripes goes up on the building next to JR in Echo Park.

Its hard to see from the street and some might say that this is a spot jack because the flag jumbles the scene without really adding much flavor.  Not because of the piece itself, which looks interesting, but because of the placement which renders the flag hard to see.

The flag seems to be stitched of material, and not made of paper.

My, Oh My

The bottom half of JR's giant pasted face on Melrose got covered up by newspaper advertisements right away.

Now, the upper half of the face is left holding its head as if to say "My, oh my."

JR Back in Los Angeles?

Fresh new giant piece on Melrose and Martel.

Only one street artist goes this big with faces.  Even if another did, there is only one who could smoothly paste up the roll up gates at the bottom of this installation.  By all looks and appearances, it would seem that JR is back in Los Angeles!
