New piece from Free Humanity. It is a framed postal sticker that says 'Never Buy a Piece of Art You Can Make Yourself'. And, on the outside of the frame a separate stencil says 'Break Glass In Case of Lack of Art Skills'.
Not sure exactly what this piece is about.
Found on Melrose.
dig it.
ReplyDeleteawesome work!
ReplyDeletehow long till free humanity breaks the glass on this "art" piece.
ReplyDeletejesus christ
ReplyDeleteGood to know. I don't have to buy any of Free Humanity's work. I haven't seen anything I can't make myself in my weekly crafts class.
ReplyDeleteHey FH, need a hammer?
ReplyDeleteU're in desperate need of breaking that glass.
A more profound piece would to have the frame, with the stencil on it - but nothing in the frame. Lack of art skills come from unwillingness to create...
ReplyDeleteHey...at the end of the day - the piece causes conversation..."good" art does that. "Bad" art is fear of creating anything at all.
Just keep creating. Put ya name on it.
Where's the third pic showing Free Humanity breaking the glass?
ReplyDeletewhat exactly is this piece about free
ReplyDeleteThx for the post melrose & fairfax

ReplyDeletewhere is this
ReplyDeleteso i can pee on it
ReplyDeleteMore biting, damn!
ReplyDeleteThis is pretentious.
ReplyDeleteI see artist's work all the time that I could paint myself. And a lot of it's lame. But there's also work by less skilled artists that is totally unique and deep.
It's not about your skills as an artists. It's about expressing your soul and giving viewers an insight there in. That can never be repeated or replaced by anyone else, even if they can paint "better" than you.
The art community as a whole is plagued by "The Cool" and this is just another example of that.
