Perhaps the strongest presence at Lush's art show was the 'street installation' piece, and M&F got the chance to shoot some exclusive shots of it before the show opened. This street installation was a gritty and impressive thing at Lush's show. It had a true 'street' feel. In our opinion, this is leagues beyond MOCA's street market installation.
Overly confident garbage. Only an idiot (or 10 year old) would buy, or appreciate, this passionless crap. Promoting this guy so ardently will only drag your blog down the toilet with Lush's enormous ego. How much did you get paid?
I've said it before and I'll say it again. There's only a few street/graf artists who can hold an entire show and pull it off properly. Lush's work just doesn't work in a gallery setting. Props to Lush for doing his thing, not dogging that at all. I just don't think it works in a gallery.
It's kind of surprising that people can't recognize trolling when they see it. I've said it before, and I'll say it again; Lush is the Sacha Baron Cohen of street art.
To refute an earlier comment, I believe his work only fits in a gallery, as it's essentially a critique of the gallery art world hyping the work of street artists and profiting from it. It was interesting for a second, but it's kind of like... okay, now what? The stuff he's done on the street is pretty poorly executed and stupid looking.
His video work is actually pretty funny, and you really get the Ali G style from his persona through those. He's a comedian.
a true quality of a mess
ReplyDeletesorry but how is this art?
