Hooked Up - Stikman

In addition to the ongoing Stikman Scavenger Hunt, M&F got hooked up with a pack from Stikman.

M&F was really surprised to get an email from the elusive artist. Stikman gets up on the streets like crazy, from LA to NY and all along the East Coast--but he has almost no online presence. We have always been impressed with the way Stikman gets up. He is always doing new things, pushing new boundaries, and making new art out of new things. If you haven't seen Stikman's actual pavement street pieces, they are amazing.

Still remember the first time we came across a Stikman piece. It was on Hollywood Blvd, and it was like nothing we had ever seen before. The 3d piece made up of sticks, or rods or something seemed to blend in with building perfectly. It looked like it had been riding a long time too, which was so unusual since it was right on the Blvd's Walk of Stars, an area that is usually buffed and groomed thoroughly. And when we posted pics of the mysterious piece on the blog, DWA commented that it was from Stikman and the pieces were incredibly valuable and rare.

Stikman also commented in an email about people who take street art out of the streets, and we didn't think we would ever get a pack from Stikman. So this is very cool and we really appreciate it. The pack includes a calendar, like the ones in the scavenger hunt. And a series of hand cut stickers. Each sticker seems to have its own unique personality, and for those who know us and our love for form cut stickers, this is pretty amazing.

And its very cool that everyone has a chance to get hooked up with a Stikman. If you haven't yet, be sure to head over to the Stikman Scavenger Hunt to leave a comment and try to score one online!

Thanks for the hookup, Stikman! Stay up!
