Mad Graffiti Week - Street Art and Graffiti Launch an Egyptian Rebellion

The fire of the Egyptian revolution is being sparked by street art and graffiti, and there has been a worldwide call for artists to support the movement in Egypt.

The Egypt based Ganzeer.blogspot recently put the call out for artists and others to support the revolution around the globe by participating in Mad Graffiti Week. Mad Graffiti Week is actually almost 2 weeks long, running from Jan 13-25, and it has received a strong response worldwide.

We first heard about the event through another Egyptian website, Ahram that brought back memories about how a news article should be written. The article says that artists from all over the world, from as far as Poland are traveling to Egypt to heed the call. Even big name artists like Blu are pledging their support.

Like most followers of the blog, if you can't make it to Egypt, you can print some of the posters from Ganzeer's website and share them with your community. Knowledge is power, and it is powerful to watch how street art and graffiti are the voice of the revolution in Egypt.
