Graffiti Your Own Home Sweet Home
First of all, its worth pointing out that this blog visits every corner and alley way of this tremendous city of Los Angeles. M&F's coverage of LA is so all-encompassing, that sometimes we even catch some residential graffiti riding in the suburbs.
Like here. At a random neighborhood spot in the San Fernando Valley, there is some heart shaped graffiti riding on the front of an otherwise normal looking house. It kind of looked like a tag left as a token of love from some amorous teenager, so M&F started snapping photos of the house to document it.
The owner noticed that someone was taking photos of their house, and so Mrs. popped her head out the front door to see what was happening. The lady told M&F that her house had not been tagged, but that she and her husband had painted the heart on their home 9 years ago themselves to honor the couple's anniversary.
When you hear the background story like this, all of a sudden the elementary piece becomes awesome. Its not about the skill, its about what the piece means. And this loving couple used graffiti to signify their love on their own home sweet home. That's pretty awesome.
Dig it. Stay up!

@hotmail?
Here is a sticker riding in the Valley from John Kline.
The sticker itself doesn't appear too dated, but the @hotmail web address seems to set it back a few years. Does anybody use hotmail anymore?

Stickers Dating Back Decades!
A random light pole in a random neighborhood in the Valley with a random sticker combo on it. And these stickers have been riding for decade+!
Most of these are music slaps with action from Tattoo Goo, Dalek, Mudvayne's LD 50, and Kottonmouth Kings Hidden Stash 2. The above album's released in 2000 and 2001 respectively so it would seem that that is how long these stickers have been riding. These are some of the oldest stickers captured actively on the streets. Notice how only the Mudvayne one appears weather proof.

Drake 818
Drake conquers a bold billboard in Los Angeles.
Check out the thin foothold ledge the artist had to stand on to hit this spot. Impressive~
Even though Drake is throwing up an 818 to represent the Valley, this piece is located in Korea Town.

Bozoe - Another Hot Rooftop Spot!
Bozoe hits another hot rooftop spot. This one is deep in the San Fernando Valley.
Bozoe is arguably LA's most active graffiti writer at the moment, getting up from downtown to Hollywood to the rooftop of your mom's house.

Hidden Los Angeles
The Valley might as well be considered Hidden Los Angeles. Even though the area and population in the Valley is bigger than the other side of the hill, the Valley doesn't get nearly as much credit or hype. The Valley is generally seen as Hollywood's little big brother.
But the graffiti scene is incredibly active in the Valley. The shitty part, so is the buff. There is fresh art all the time, but most of it gets painted over quickly.
A spot that rides in the Valley is hard to find, but the names getting up are always impressive. Like here, this sticker saying 'Hidden Los Angeles' says it all. Getting up from Movie, Byson, BEGK, PABK, Skant, Work's, Riker, Taxer, Paer, Bankrupt Slut and more.
Stay up!

Kudos Graffiti
Kudos goes big and bombs a hot spot in the Valley.
Even though this looks like a chill area from the above pic, the graffiti is huge and right next to the exit from the Northridge Mall.
Kudos on that graffiti!

X Marks the Spot!
X marks the spot--but for what? Secrets? Treasure?
At a random sidewalk spot in the Valley, a giant X has been painted on the ground.
Not sure if there is any treasure under it. But, right next to it, some prairie dogs have dug a hole going deep into the ground. Maybe they know something that we don't?
Is this 'X' a modern form of Geomapping?

Get Up, Stay Up!
Impressive billboard bombing in the Valley.
Think this is 2 separate pieces. The orange one on the left from 125 and the white one on the right from the ER crew. The names still work together so not sure if this was bombed at the same time?
