Hooked Up - Mr. Brainwash

When Mr. Brainwash was caught (literally) red handed putting up his street art, Mr. Brainwash hooked up the fans with not one, but four separate signed pieces. Click the jump for more

These are not our posters, but belong to MELROSEandFAIRFAX contributer, KR. He also sent us in the action pics of Mr. Brainwash putting up the new art on his wall. KR says MBW was hand painting the heart on the dog when they arrived.

People can say what they want about Mr. Brainwash's art work or hands-off approach. But even if he is not painting the pieces himself, It cannot be doubted that he has a remarkable eye for selecting powerful cultural icons and developing images in an appealing manner.

KR says that Mr. Brainwash is a super nice guy in person. And we think it is very cool how Mr. Brainwash hooked up KR. Not just one, but four signed posters.

Its great that Mr. Brainwash shows so much love to his fans. Maybe all the world does need is love. That, and a few signed posters~

  1. These aren't bad. People give MBW so much crap but it's not like we would hate these if they weren't made by someone branded a "poseur" by all the "cool kids".

  2. I still say Mr. Brainwash is a big inside joke. Seriously, what else could he be?

  3. i am actually way envious. with all the hype about is he/ isn't he Banksy ... with all the negative whining about whether he is really an artist or just a poser (wow - i am dating myself with that lingo there) ... his creations speak volumes. i have lived down the street from his wall for nearly a decade and have yet to catch him out there! i'd be honored to display his work on my wall. * side note - just as i was about to press send i noticed the above comment said poser too! at least i am not alone in that verbage.

  5. I'm not sure that selecting nearly EVERY cultural icon requires a 'remarkable eye'.. probably just eyesight in general.

  6. Anyone seen the recent MBW that went up in Hollywood next to the Bowl? It's nice. Just as you head north on Highland and are getting on the 101 North, in the far left lane, as you pass under the overpass, there are a bunch of wheatpastes on your left. One big one of Alfred Hitcock holding a picture of Obama, only Obama has smeared red lips a la Heath Ledger's Joker. Really nice.
