This is one of the coolest pieces we have seen in a minute.
Gorgeous, artistic piece featuring a fish nursing many small fish through its teats. Of course, this is not the way nature works, which makes this piece all the more fascinating.
We first glimpsed this piece at night when we were out without a camera, and when we came back to take pictures the next morning, someone had tried to rip it off. Most of the piece is still riding, and the effect of the ripped places seems to only make the piece stronger. And all the little balls of paper (pictured below) now look like fish eggs below the piece.
We interpret this piece to be some sort of commentary on religion, and believers sucking on the teat of a god--but the whole system is unnatural and just doesn't make sense. Fascinating work.
Unknown artist, but hope to see more pieces like this soon.

ReplyDeleteSuper sick! I saw it before it got ripped too and it had a little maggot sticker with it. I saw another one in the same alley of an old man fetus thing. It also had a maggot sticker so I think they were by the same person. There was giant heart with eyes that seems to be the same style too nearby. Not sure.
