Cope2 - Streets, Galleries, Videos

M&F is an LA focused blog, but there are a few big name artists that we like to follow around the globe like Banksy, and New York graffiti legend Cope2.

Cope made a name for himself getting up on the tough streets of New York, and he is still getting up like this truck in New York shows. Not only is Cope getting up on the streets, but he is also one of the most successful graffiti artists transitioning to the galleries. Pictured below is one of Cope's latest pieces, a tribute to Lady Gaga.

Cope is so big, and gets up so much, that sometimes he even gets unintended hype, like recently when Kid Rock and Yelawolf filmed a music video in front of Cope's art work in New York City. Its cool to get blasted like that, but at the same time this is another example where mass culture tries to cash in on graffiti and street art's fame, but without properly crediting the artists.

Keep an eye out for Cope to go big in 2012--from the streets to the galleries to your TV screen, he is going to be everywhere!

Stay up~
