Alec--Resurected

Alec had a piece on this wall pre-paint job, and when they took the parking sign down, the face of Jack Nicholson was brought back to life.

Dope.

Go Big or Go Home

Alec, Leba, and T.wat pastes go up top the strip on La Brea next to a Chae MBS throwie.

It looks like the spray around T.wat is by Free Humanity.

Great location.

Alec Goes BIG!!

Fresh off a massive hired mural in Washington D.C., Alec graces the City of Angels with a new angel to adore. ( Click link to check Out Alec in DC on MelroseandFairfax)

This new character from Alec has been launched in a big way. Three tremendous and unique hand painted portraits have come to life at 3rd and La Cienega in Los Angeles.

Also featuring Alec's signature Monopoly Man character and some insidious stencils. The seemingly family friendly stencils appear tame and welcoming at first glance while a closer look reveals harrowing details like the bloody foot print.

Each face is well over 10 feet tall and painted in 5 massive separate, unique portraits.

This is perhaps one of the most engaging street art pieces that MelroseandFairfax has documented. While snapping photographs we watched many people stop and stare at the massive installation and were even approached twice and asked what the mural is about.

Big ups and congratulations to Alec who not only keeps LA's streets decorated with beautiful imagery, but who is also seamlessly branching out into commissioned art pieces. Stay up~

Rules of the Street

Dethkills couldn't compete on the street with wheatpastes, so they have taken to defacing(?) art they don't like, and trying to go over artists like Alec with stickers.

The thing is, Alec gets up so much more and so much bigger than Dethkills, that, as is shown in the stickers, its not really going over, its just a distraction.

Side note
: A well respected street artist once said that one of the rules of the street is that its wrong to put a sticker over anything sprayed, because the risks are so much more dire carrying a can with society's contempt for graffiti.

Fresh Work from Alec

Fresh new work from Alec Street Artist.

Alec truly does keep it fresh. With a complete game of wheatpastes, paint, and stickers, this artist keeps decorating the streets with cool new characters and looks.

From the ground to the tops of buildings, Alec truly does get up. As the saying goes, if he got a nickel every time he passed go and got up, he would be a very, very rich man by now.

(Also featuring Noam Chomsky and Lotus flower from Free Humanity, T.Wat futbol paste, Lonely Girl and packman stencil (unkown artist), and Cali Killa rooftop stencil)

Alec + Leba Up in Heaven

If you look close you can see the bars that they must have climbed and hung from to do this art work.

This heaven is impressive on many levels, and the finished product is divine~

Its great to see street artists recognized and appreciated.
