BanksyNY - The Grumpier You Are, the More Assholes You Meet

Banksy revealed his newest piece today. This one is not pretty as much as it is truthful.

The art is a simple tag that says 'The Grumpier You Are, The More Assholes You Meet . . . "

Its true. Is this perhaps a jab at any folks who have not been repeatedly impressed, day after day, for every day out of this month, during October?

Fuck yeah. We dig this one. Just when Banksy brings you flowers, next he reminds you that you might bump into death at any time, but then, while you're living, Banksy encourages folks not to be an asshole. Banksy's art probably demonstrates better morals than the Bible.

Stay up. And don't be an asshole~

Snyder - Omnipresent Art

Snyder coined the term 'omnipresent art' to describe his method of painting mundane objects to highlight the idea that art is around us at all times.

Indeed, when you visit Carlsbad, Snyder's art is everywhere.

Snyder has the biggest murals, the savvy-est street art spots, and his paintings are even riding inside many of the buildings in the Carlsbad Village.

Here is some of Snyder's omnipresent art that is still riding around the outside of his former studio right in downtown Carlsbad.  The custom painted brick is dated 2009, and it is also cool to see the progression of Snyder's technique.  Also notice the stencil Snyder has stealthily riding on the electric box up high.

Dig Snyder's omnipresent art~

Trustocorp Experimenting

Trusto seems to be experimenting with some additives working with spray paint to influence the drips from a spray tag.

Doesn't seem like they are using two cans, so still trying to figure out how the dark spray comes at the beginning and end of the tag.  Usually a spray can will spit some knarly stuff and then even out.

These can be found all over the Melrose area.

Sometimes Street Art Interaction Can Be a Good Thing

There is a difference between a street art interaction and a cap.  A cap aims to cover over and demean a piece, while an interaction seeks to do just that, interact with the piece in some way.

The thing is, sometimes artists who are on the receiving end of a street art interaction can view it as a cap of sorts, and there have been a few recent cases of unwanted street art interactions where one street artist has placed a piece and then another street artist has put another head over the top of that one.

Well, here is a street art interaction that seems to be done in a good way in that it interacts with the piece and arguably improves the piece through that interaction.

In Silverlake, Bandit has added his 'street art' to a dripping street heart piece.  Bandit tags 'Street Art' over the middle of the heart and places a Native American holding his hand tenderly on the heart.

Dig it.  It seems unlikely that whoever painted the hearts would be offended by this.  Do other folks agree that this seems to be a good street art interaction?
