MOCA's Buffed Art In The Streets

Here is a brilliant installation piece placed at MOCA.

It is one of the the best that we have seen which continues the commentary concerning the buffing of Blu, and whether street art in a museum is truly art in the streets.

This new piece from Subtle features the 'Art In The Streets' logo, but the 'Streets' looks as if it is being buff. And on the left side of the picture is Blu's wall, in the process of being buffed.

Actually, the pic of the guy buffing in this piece is a real pic of the guy buffing Blu's mural.

Really brilliant commentary, and expertly placed right at the entrance to MOCA's exhibit.

Dig it. Very cool stuff from Subtle. Stay up~

  2. This is clever. Though, I'm not quite sure I get the "bleeding" electrical tape... it would probably work better without it.

  4. The discussion is probably going to continue for several years, as it impacts more than just street art, but rather any artist being commissioned to create a work in public. Nothing to cry about, but it's important for the overall discourse.

IMHO, the mural kind of sucked and Blu needs to beef up his representational drawing skills before doing something with perspective. Still doesn't mean it should be buffed without his consent or even a forewarning.
