Teacher x Toolz - Giant Life Sized OWS Monopoly Board

Teacher and Toolz teamed up on an amazing project that culminated in a giant life sized Occupy Wall Street themed Monopoly Board Game. The idea to collaborate with the May 1st OWS General Strike was inspired by Toolz, who shared the idea with Teacher, and Teacher fashioned this incredible giant Monopoly Board game. And the Monopoly Boards was placed in the middle of the street where the OWS marches came together on Broadway and 6th Street. The Monopoly Board was HUGE, measuring 55 feet by 55 feet. It was composed out reclaimed former billboard material. As you can see, Teacher killed it with the art and the piece looks clean and professional. Very cool to see how LA's street artists keep pushing things to the next level. And how artists are working to push for true social change. Dig it. Stay up~

    1. A - Toolz designed the project, i painted it and helped lay it out. big thanks to Dale Brasel, BurnOne, Leaf and her friend, as well as the other couple people out of the crowd who helped lay it out - also Regency billboards for donating the two 14ft x 48ft used billboard vinyls that were cut up and used for this... so, did i break the rules again? sorry, i'm getting too old to remember stuff sometimes... who retired the monopoly board image anyway?
B - i don't understand this part of the comment but would love to meet up in person so we can talk about it and get it right. so much easier to understand each other when you talk in person. you know who i am, who are you?

  6. Teachr and Tools didnt do it for themselves! they did it for the people. The people that have suffered because of greedy corporations! corrupt governments, scrutiny, negated civil rights!! etc. They didnt worry about who did it before but more about the statement and movement!! Because of you guys I will push harder!!!

  9. The occupy thing is lost and lacks credibility-its tired and non effective. It looks like a bunch of idiots who use Occupy as their excuse for their ridiculous behavior.

  10. You do know the monopoly game was formed in the 1970s by Parker brothers right? And that alec didn't come up with it right? Good. Then stop sayin some one did anything first and know that these two artists made this for the public, not to sign it at the bottom and make money off of something already created. I feel sorry for you idiots.

  11. Was it left there? Torn up? Taken up? Will it be used again?

  12. occupy is pretty much lost. but i do respect them for voicing their opinions and standing up for minorities, bringing people together. including the gay rights movement. of course the people must govern ourselves with self control and not act ridiculous.

  13. WELL AWARE THAT ITS A BOARD GAME EINSTEIN-ARE YOU FN KIDDING WITH THAT STUPID COMMENT?
ITS THE USE OF THE GAMEBOARD IN STREET ART THAT IS THE ISSUE HERE. GET IT?!
AND IF IT WAS DONE FOR THE PEOPLE-THEN THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN ANONYMOUS ABOUT IT. CANT HAVE IT BOTH WAYS.SORRY. THEY DID CLAIM IT.
ITS A MEDIA FRENZY AND THATS WHY IT WAS PLACED THERE -HELLO...NO HATE FOR THE ARTISTS HERE JUST MAKING A POINT SO CALM DOWN 10:48..AND ISNT THAT WHAT OCCUPY IS TRYING TO DO..MAKE A POINT?

  14. "they didnt do it for money or fame"
Just how is it they could make money with a copyrighted product? They couldnt even if they tried. Ignorance from 10:48. And your little entitlement issue about feeling bad for people is arrogant and misplaced. You are apparently Gods gift to humanity but yet NOBODY knows who you are.
And about your Parker Bros comment-I guess we can all use Andre the Giants image for our street art because Shepherd didnt invent Andres carrer or fame? Same thing-just sayin..IDIOT!

  15. Everything Teacher does is a bite. That guy is old and clueless. Finally people are seeing through his BS. The guy claims to have all the answers like he's somebody important in street art. Dude, you've been doing street art for like a year. Oh no wait, supposedly he was doing street art like 30 years ago. LMAO. Nobody believes your lame stories old man!
