Street Art Stolen - In the Wake of Banksy
It is not unheard of for street art to get taken down. It is unusual that it is happening this much.
After all the buzz with Banksy coming to town for the Academy Awards, the interest in street art has grown, and so has the desire to take a piece home. It seems like anything with a stencil on it is fair game, and two of LA's signature pieces, including the Leba shot pictured above, got swiped over the past few days. Click the jump for more
Both Leba's Anne Frank themed 'Free Gaza' stencil from Venice Beach, and Dog Byte's Singin' in the Rain disappeared over the weekend. In all fairness, it did look like the Dog Byte piece was coming off the wall. And you can see in second pic where the Leba piece has gone missing.
We hope these found good homes~
Big thanks to Grant Sims for sending us the Leba pics from Venice.
