Art Show Featuring Banksy's Street Pieces Cut Out Of The Wall

An art show just opened at the Kezler Gallery in New York, featuring street pieces from Banksy that have been cut out of walls. The pieces on display, and assumably up for sale, have been cut out of their original structures in Bethlehem, Brighton, London,
and Los Angeles.

The Banksy rat from LA was the first Banksy piece we ever saw in person.

Reportedly, Banksy and his authentication team, the Pest Control, have said that it is no longer a Banksy piece once it has been cut out of the wall.

It would be interesting to see how the pieces cut out from the street are being displayed at the show in person. You can see more pics of the show HERE or a better write-up over at our friend According2G.

***Big thanks to Zack for sending this story in***

  1. a lot of the pieces (some weighing up to a ton) are cut straight out of the wall (and are as thick as the length of one of your arms). They are suspended from the ceiling in certain cases. It's definitely worth a trip to the Hamptons to see these works in person as the Keszler Gallery acquired these from private collections for this exhibit.
