This is in response to America's ballot box refutation of Mitt Romney and backwards Republican ideas, like the threat to slice funding for PBS.

Even though the progressives have come out on top in this election, it does not seem like it will fix all of America's problems, and 'Amerika' is still under the gun.  It doesn't matter which side of the aisle you choose, the people who choose to run for office in politics are more interested in their own agenda then truly helping the American people.  But America grows hopeful after each election that things might change.  Thank God for the few special ones like Elizabeth Warren!

No 'Pay to Play' for Republicans

2012 was the first election after the Supreme Court decision of Citizens United.   Citizens United is what allows corporations and Super PAC's to spend unlimited amounts of money on the election--and they did, spending billions.

However, the citizens of America seemed to completely reject massive funding, and nearly every race that was funneled money lost.  The Republican's out-of-touch stances on the environment, taxes for the rich, and women led to their demise.  Obama won the Presidency, and Democrats picked up seats in the Senate.  There was an 18 point gender gap between women and men voting for Romney or Obama.

The progressives are hopeful for some real change during Obama's lame duck presidency (for those not familiar with the term, lame duck refers to a politician who can not get elected again, so this might be the only time a politician isn't completely influenced by politics.)  Although Obama didn't flash many progressive values during his first 4 years, he had to worry about he election.  No that the election is over, America has 'Hope' that things will get better.

Mitt Romney Street Art Makes Illegal Electioneering in Los Angeles

A wheat paste from Thrashbird becomes an illegal piece of electioneering on election day, since the building it is placed in front of is being used for a voting location.

If you have followed the ways that Republican's have tried to limit and do everything they can to prevent citizens from exercising their right to vote, then this will just seem like a minor infraction.

Amerika the Beautiful

Gigantic new mural from Colur entitled 'Amerika the Beautiful'.

It features Obama and Mitt Romney, each holding a gun to the head of a crying girl in a Disney Mouseketeers cap with the word 'Amerika'. This is entirely hand painted and HUGE!  It measures a full 12x18 feet, and this is the biggest unsanctioned hand painted piece that has hit the streets of LA in awhile.

Mitt Romney's Binder #47 (Its Full of Women!)

Lol, it looks like this was a Halloween costume themed around Mitt Romney's comment during the Presidential debate that he wasn't against hiring women, and that he kept "binder's full of women".

After Halloween, the costume became a billboard, and it was left facing out on the street on Fairfax like an anti-political sign.

Must be skinny women to fit in that binder!

Animal Activists (and Mutts) Against Mitt Romney

It might be a good idea for dogs to invest in this year's political process.  Obama famously selected a family dog through suggestions from the public once elected, while Mitt Romney has been criticized for his judgement in strapping his dog to the roof of his car for a day of driving to go on vacation.

There are a bunch of animal supporting bumper stickers on the back of this car near Melrose.  One says 'Mutts Against Mitt' (Romney), another reads, 'Cats nap.  Only Humans put them "to sleep"', some pit bull best friend stickers, and even some home made signs taped on that say 'Stop Slaughtering Us'.

The animal loving owner of the car was actually sitting in the car while we took photos, and as we walked by she eagerly asked if we like them.  We do.  And the world would be better if more people were kinder and properly took care of animals.

Silly Poor People - Money is for the Rich!

Ouch.  A brutal wheat paste saying 'Silly Poor People - Money is for the Rich.  Either way We Win, You Lose'.

Even though a rich person would probably never actually be heard say this, the sad thing is that this is what actually happens.  The rich get all the money, and the poor get fucked while they scrub the riches tubs, mow their lawns, and vote Democrat or Republican (although one party will fuck the poor much faster!).

The trickle down never trickles down.  Happy election season . . .
