Fans Paying Penance at BanksyNY's Street Confessional
Banksy's newest street piece, Concrete Confessional, has already been located in Manhattan and like most Banksy pieces, this is drawing a big crowd.
Love how the Concrete Confessional begs for crowd interaction.
As for the painting itself, it was not done on the back side of box in the concrete, the actual concrete block is hollow, and the painting is on the back side, much like a true confession box. The placement is more clear from the pics below. After Banksy's questionable staging of his Beaver piece this other day, the artist comes back strong with great utilization of the environment.
Click the jump for 20+ more pics of the piece, the placement, and the crowd surrounding Banksy's Street Confessional.

A Closer Look at Banksy's Beaver
Its been a crazy and eventful day for Banksy's Beaver. From its disclosure, to the disappointing realization that the piece has been staged, to some guy trying to chisel the piece out of the wall, to some other guys charging folks to see it. What a wild ride!
Well, some folks managed to get around the gauntlet, get harrassed for the opportunity, or just paid to pose with Banksy. Click the jump for more pics of Banksy's Beaver!

(Rolls Eyes) . . . Nope, Still Not Banksy
M&F has said it before, how Banksy's influence alone is bigger than the rest of the entire street art genre combined.
Perhaps that's why when people who are not engaged in the street art community think that any, and sometimes every, piece of street art is a Banksy. Its even funnier how the mainstream art and media news outlets jump on the story without fact-checking anything. Next time ask someone who is in the community.
This new piece of art that is reported as being a new Banksy piece in response to a recent announcement that another street Banksy being set to get cut off a wall and go up for auction. However, to clairfy and set the record straight, the piece pictured above is not from Banksy. Anyone with any knowledge in the street art genre could have told you this based on the content itself, the overspray, the layout and the absent legs. This piece is from a new artist named Stromberg, and the content is a humorous take on vandalism becoming valuable. Or further vandalized.
Next time ask an expert, or anyone at all who follows the genre. Even though folks love to think every piece of street art might be a Banksy, its probably not (because if it were it would be under plexi-glass or cut off the wall within a day or two~).
All humor aside, props to all the other street artists who are getting up on the streets! Stay up and be careful, especially when vandalizing vandalism!

Mitt = Puppet / Obama = Beggar
New piece from Bumboy WC. Featuring Mitt Romney dancing like a puppet being pulled by strings handing a dollar to Obama looking like a homeless man and begging for change instead of bringing it.
This one cuts both ways, and seems to hit it right on the head. Dig it~
