Is that a Banksy?!
As I was taking the first shot, a hot girl walked up excitedly and asked, "Is that a Banksy?!"
Not a Banksy, but LA's own stencil guru, Dog Byte. It is called 'Step and Repeat'and captures a little girl role-playing as a soldier. This piece was hand stenciled and wheatpasted on Melrose.
It seems that someone was so inspired by 'Step and Repeat' that they wanted a piece of the action and they added the bag of money and 'Exit Through the Bank', in Banksy's signature style.
Apparently a lot of people thought it was Banksy.
The piece is now buffed and gone.
Keep an eye out for more Dog Byte's around town.
