Obey hit this spot on La Brea with a giant dirty face of Andre. A short time later, FM III came along and put character face next to it.
A lot of folks are calling this a spot jock, and even though the FM piece is as big as the Obey, it does seem like that is what is happening because the 2nd face doesn't add anything to the location. Sometimes it is a good thing when one piece goes up and then that area become flooded with art. And sometimes one piece has a better interaction with the location.
The image FM III uses is actually pretty cool, just not right here. And the dude gets up like crazy. Really hits some hot spots and even comes back to spots at times. Online research indicates FM III is promotion for a movie, which does seem to change the message. At the same time, the campaign does feel pretty organic. Anyone know the full scoop on what FM III is about?
isn't FMIII some sort of advert? It shouldn't be getting press like this if it is.
ReplyDeleteFranklin Marshall III mmm kay
ReplyDeleteBe gentle, He's Fragile, handle with care.
Those ugly faces are put up by that dude Fragile and his soft friends.
ReplyDeleteI think its some lame advertisement for stand up comedy. It's toy as hell, and this is a major spotjack.
Oh and the Andre face isn't "dirty" it's supposed to look like the Misfits logo.
Fragile & Company - please stop now.
The artist is "Fragile". The piece is FM III.
ReplyDeleteThat is a side bust/spot jock. It rides on the coat tails of the fame that Obey has already achieved, not to mention it's crowding the Andre on an otherwise vacant wall. blah.
ReplyDeleteThat face annoys the FREAKING SHIT out of me. I suppose that means Fragile is doing a good job. Props!
ReplyDelete...dick..
I'm so torn!
plain and simple, SPOT JOCK, Jackoff.
ReplyDeletei think FM or whatever is dope. gets up. i researched it to n' it seems like an artist just took some unknown comedians face and played a joke on everyone. doesn't seem advert to me.

DeleteWhy can't two faces just be friends and hang out together
ReplyDeleteFMIII, comedian extraordinaire, and even better artist. That face is sick, and he tears it up around town. We all know what its like to mix our artist selves with our hobbies that were doing, right bankrupt slut?
ReplyDeleteI've seen that spot covered with some posters. FM could of possibly gotten a bit hurt and want his spot back? .... maybe
