City Government Gives Plaque To Honor Street Artists

This is a really cool story.

The website, Buenos Aires Street Art , is reporting that the city of Buenos Aires in Argentina is putting up a plaque to honor four graffiti and street artists, Ever, Jaz, Mart, and Poeta.

These artists have traditionally painted illegal walls. They say that it is surprising that the city would honor the artists in such a flattering way.

This is perhaps the strongest example of street art and graffiti being embraced by the mainstream and the powers that be. We would love to see a city like LA embrace its street art and graffiti artists, instead of the current political climate of pursuing them aggressively.

Dig it. Stay up~
