How Long Does Respect Ride on Legal Murals?

The city of Los Angeles has begun permitting murals, making them legal on the streets of LA once again.

However, even the city's support won't stop rogue street and graffiti artists from going over legal walls if the artists see fit.

But the thing is, most of the time street and graffiti artists don't paint over legal murals.  Whether it is out of respect for the artist, the skills, or just supporting the arts, most of the time, legal murals don't get painted over.

But sometimes they do.  Like here.  This captures Kyote LTS capping over another graffiti writer who painted over this long riding mural on Venice Blvd.  Its been riding so long that the paint is fading and chipping.  There are a few other tags, but still, the majority is not bombed over.

How long does respect ride for legal murals?  What are the 'street' guidelines for capping over legal work?

Save the Drama for Yo' Mama - Legal Eagle Wall Beef is for the Birds

Its funny.  Ask anyone.  There is more beef around legal eagle walls than there is on the streets.

That's probably because the streets patrol themselves, while the specific mural guidelines are still being worked out.

Here is a funny situation in Korea Town, where a graffiti writer was jealous and bothered that another writer was getting some hype, so the one artist completely buffed out the legal wall mural from the other artist.

Not even a cap (as it would be on the streets) but a full buff.  Its kind of funny when stuff like this happens.
