Lister's Pink Ballerina and Snyder's Bananas

Anthony Lister paints a ballerina in pink in Miami.

On a side note, folks who remember the Snyder vs. Lister episode on Melrose might find it entertaining that Snyder met Lister during Art Basel.  It was a cautiously friendly meeting, but when Snyder asked if Lister had been painting in Miami, Lister admitted that he had, then adding "But I'm not going to tell you where so you don't put a banana over it!'.

As you can see, Lister's ballerina girl remains banana free.

International Street Art

Miami plays host to artists from all over the world.  This building hosts art from Australian Antony Lister, British Ben Eine, and more.

Truly, street art is international~

Masterworks Street Art?

Years ago, there was plenty of street art and graffiti in Miami, but there were no walls like this.

This is entitled Masterworks Contemporary Art, and it has oversized paintings on the outside of the building.

Technically, guess this is art on the streets.  Still, this doesn't feel a thing like authentic 'street art'.

What do folks think?  Is any art on the streets street art?  Or is street art a term that needs to be earned?

Welcome to Wynwood!

A cool disintegrating zebra rides on a wall in Miami saying 'Welcome to Wynwood'.~

This spot is literally across the street from where M&F used to live, and the building always used to be filled with graffiti, like on the green tarps in front.

Both videos filmed and produced by Roger L. Griffith.

Jaber at Art Basel Miami

Worldwide graffiti fiend Jaber travelled to Miami for Art Basel.  While there, Jaber got up and got head all over, placing his signature white ninja character head all over the city.

Check out these bombs, and notice a shout out to Graffhead, which has more pics of the Miami action.

Col Wallnuts & URNY @ Art Basel Miami

LA is spoiled with some of the top graffiti artists in the world heralding from the city of Angels.  And the biggest names in the world travel to the Melrose area to leave their mark in arguably the hottest street art spot in America--other than the week that is Art Basel in Miami, that is.

Followers of M&F or LA locals will recognize the stylized graffiti from New York based Col Wallnuts and the URNY crew who have had a building actively riding on Melrose for the better part of the past year.  Well, Col and crew headed down to Miami during Art Basel and slammed some walls with some incredible art.

Seriously, after checking out these walls you can see why Col Wallnuts and URNY are some of the top graffiti writers in the world.  Staying true to the root elements of graffiti while at the same time adding delicious new flavor with modern techniques.  Check out these murals from Col and crew at Art  Basel Miami.

Dig it.  Stay up!

Snyder's 'Urban Pop Up Gallery' at Art Basel Miami

Snyder travelled to Miami for Art Basel, and unlike many of the so-called street artists at the event, Snyder spent his time claiming a presence on the streets, installing the 2nd round of his Urban Global Pop Up Gallery (view the 1st HERE).

Check out Snyder's first hand account of his Art Basel adventures over on Carlsbad Crawl.

Stay up!

Alec Monopoly in Paris

Some recent action shots and street pieces from Alec Monopoly bombing the streets of Paris, France.

Alec is currently showing at Art Basel in Miami, Florida.

Undoubtedly, no Los Angeles based street artist who launched from M&F's scene has logged more miles traveling the globe doing street art.  Stay up!
