For the Love of Graffiti & Hip-Hop
This yard is taking it back to the roots of graffiti and hip hop.
With a fresh new mural from Sal and Gozo featuring wild style letters on the side and a portrait of Jimi Hendrix in the middle. The two artists were hanging out across the yard, even though they were finished painting.
There were also 2 DJ's getting reading to spin. When M&F asked when the party got started, they said that there was no party, they were just doing it for the love of graffiti and hip hop!
Stay up!

Warning: Neighborhood Botch
Sticker stuck up in the Hollywood Hills saying 'Warning: Neighborhood Botch'.
On a personal level, this sticker is funny because 'botch' is something we call each other within our circle of friends, but we have never heard anyone else use it before.
But from now on, we will watch out for the neighborhood botch!

Teacher - Art is a Lifestyle
Teacher doesn't just do art. Teacher lives his art.
Literally. Teacher's life is his art, and the things he paints are from his immediate world.
Like this new series. Here are a couple of new paintings from that feature his own children. This piece blends street art and fine art seamlessly Teach has hit the streets with the black and white pictures in the background, and in full color up front are actual portraits of his two children.
These paintings are a gift to Teacher's amazing wife for her birthday.
Dig it. For Teacher, art is a lifestyle~

Did Banksy Get Busted?!
Earlier today, a news story got picked up on major sites saying that Banksy has been arrested on vandalism charges, and that his identity has been revealed.
So did Banksy get busted?!
No. The updates to the story above develop to say that the major news sites had been trolled. Banksy has not been arrested, and the initial report is not true.

Pez - Like a Fish Out of Water
A sticker from Spanish graffiti artist Pez found stuck up in Los Angeles. Like a fish out of water, this blue one is trying to leap off the pole.
There has been quite a bit of art from Pez around Los Angeles over the past little while, so it seems that he is spending some time here in LA.
Stuck up with a cool honey-bear sticker.

Did Odd Future Rip Off Cat Cult?
Followers of M&F will be long familiar with Cat Cult. The graffiti/street art collective gets up all over Los Angeles, from the east side to the west side, and including Fairfax. Which is the stomping grounds of music group/street wear collective Odd Future.
LA Weekly just published a story saying that Tyler the Creator, the frontman of Odd Future, wore what appeared to be a Cat Cult T shirt onstage during the 2011 MTV Video Awards. Although anyone who looks at the t-shirts can see the similarities, and might very well think that it was a Cat Cult piece, however, the shirt Tyler wore was not actually a Cat Cult piece.
Cat Cult sent a Cease-and-Desist letter to Odd Future, which Odd Future ignored, but LA Weekly reports that they did start to modify the designs a bit. Cat Cult would like to press forward with a lawsuit, but the lawyers fees cost too much and are effectively prohibitive to pursue his claim. Even though the cat heads do look similar to each other, a verdict is always uncertain, and some folks might argue that any cat head looks like another cat head.
What do readers think? Did Odd Future steal the cat design from Cat Cult?
