Good Thing BanksyNY's Art is Going to Art Lovers -- Now on Ebay

Gothamist published an article with the owner of Banksy's 'Grumpy Asshole' truck.

The new owner is not impressed. He says "For me, its worth nothing more than art on the other sides of the truck. I don't know art. To me it has no value. I can't appreciate that."

The owner is an Orthodox Jew, so he did not answer his phone all day on Sunday, allowing the truck to sit there all day. Even though it was unprotected, there was no vandalism, only fans writing their names in dust.

The owner is now trying to sell it to the highest bidder saying "I can replace the truck so it doesn't have value to me--but it has value to someone else". Apparently, this own can appreciate the financial value, even if not the artistic.

Now, wonder if there is some rich grumpy asshole willing to pay tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars for a 'Grumpy Asshole' truck?

***UPDATE -- Banksy's Grumpy Truck is now on Ebay for $120,000. Or better offer. The asking price might seem like a bargain since Banksy's 'The Banality of the Banality of Evil' is currently above $300,000+.***

Banksy Trucked Up -- Not Grumpy, Assholes

Banksy's 'Grumpy Asshole' truck has been located by some very ungrumpy non-asshole Banksy Hunters.  In what looks like a beautiful day in New York, this truck is perhaps one of the best scenes yet for a discovered Banksy.  All the fans writing their names next to the piece permanently in the built up dust.  Dig it~

Also, Banksy updated his website twice today.  Once to show a truck with a cropped license plate (instead of the original).  And also, about Banksy's 'Waiting In Vain' piece, he wrote 'For those of you wanting to know if this was a permission piece, it wasn't.'

Boom. We wondered. Question answered. Much respect~

BanksyNY - Wag the Tail on the Dog in the Back of the Meat Truck

Banksy's Beaver was already revealed on his website as his street piece for October 10th.  However, right after the Beaver was revealed, the spot was shown to be staged, and it was not an authentic street sign fallen over.

So, while that was developing, all of a sudden a new truck showed up on the streets of New York. This is a gross green with only 'Farm Fresh Meats' written on the front, the side slats have the faces of numerous stuffed animals peering out the side.  According to street sources in New York, the animals are also crying and moving.

Is this Banksy?  Yes.  There is the same phone number as before with #6 on the side.

Not sure if October 10th has 2 Banksy offerings, or like the governments are known to do, perhaps there is a dog wagging its tail in the back of the meat truck, and this is an attempt to deflect from the negativity about the Beaver being staged?

Banksy - No Picture Yet - Its a Delivery Truck!

Even though the piece itself has not yet been reveiled, Banksy's phone message has been updated to say that the most recent work of art in New York City is a delivery truck.

According to the recording, the delivery truck comes equipped with a full working waterfall and plastic butterflies.  The truck will move to a different location every day, after dusk.

The recording goes on to say that Banksy was pissed when he made this, and the piece is incomplete.  (to be clear, being 'pissed' means being drunk across the pond, so Banksy was wasted, not angry). It then goes on to compare a graffiti artist trying to claim land to John Steinbeck's Grapes Of Wrath comparing what an urban artist does to a rural farmer.  "Trying like a thief to steal a little richness from the earth"

No pictures yet . . . . So, time to get your search on New York!

Sticker Combo, Florida Style

Orlando has a street style of its own.  Like this sticker combo popping up on the back of an old school truck cab.

Lots of action from all kinds of random assorted stickers.  Some fun imagery in there from the likes of Mighty Mongo, Stone Eagles, Die Rebel Scum, The Send Offs, Sons of Hippies, Feral Babies and many more.

Trucked, Not Buffed

It looks like this truck painted a layer of white over some graffiti from TDCK Ink crew.  But the paint did not really buff the piece at all, and the bomb is still getting trucked along the 101 Freeway.
