LOUDLABS - Art Drops

LOUDLABS got up all over Los Angeles last night, visiting many of the city's iconic locations.

When LOUDLABS gets up, its not just the act of putting art up and letting people see it.  LOUDLABS likes to go beyond that, and since LOUDLABS uses materials like tiles and technology, not wheat pastes, so every time they get up its like a city wide scavenger hunt.

Well, this time is definitely a city wide scavenger hunt, with LL's sending over some sick night time shots of the locations.  There are two possible prizes from this scavenger hunt, the LOUDLABS tiles or special reusable USB card that comes pre-loaded with an exclusive LOUDLABS video.  Dope stuff.

LOUDLABS is Flippin Out!

After being the first on the scene to capture the flaming car wreck that was confirmed to be the death of journalist Michael Hastings.  Michael's death was suspicious, however, after LOUDLABS got repeatedly accused of being part of the conspiracy, LL decided that in order no to 'flip out', that it was time to go on a little vacation.  

LOUDLABS took a vacation to Flippin, Arkansas.  Yes, that really the name of the place.  LOUDLABS had some fun flippin' out and getting up street art in Flippin, everywhere from fence posts to the city jail.  Click the link to check out the pics

LOUDLABS - On the Streets

LOUDLABS is used to capturing news, but the became part of the news story when the footage LL caught of Michael Hastings running a red light shortly, and then the fiery car crash moments later.

Some people have accused LOUDLABS of being part of the conspiracy for being so close and arriving at the scene of the crash so quickly.  But M&F can attest that LOUDLABS has a knack for getting around Los Angeles and creeping the streets during the midnight hours, and just happened to be nearby when the Michael Hastings tragedy happened.

The footage LL captured of Hastings' car running a red light showed that no one was following him or other vehicles made him crash, and Scott Lane from LL even got interviewed on major news networks with his story.  Lane stated that he was not involved in any conspiracy, and he also mentioned believes that high speeds alone led to the crash.  However, conspiracy theorists are still propositioning that Hastings' car might have been micro-chipped, thereby causing the high speeds and brake failure leading to the crash.

As it is clear, LOUDLABS is all over the city of Los Angeles.  And even before the Michael Hastings car crash, LOUDLABS has already been working on a personal secret video project of their own.  LL plans to release a new edition of the Shuttle Project Video, the thing is, the video is not going up online.  The only way to see the new LOUDLABS video is by finding a special 2 GB business card/flash drive.  The card will be recognizable with the LOUDLABS graphics as pictured.  This is phase one.  Phase two will be putting the video onto DVD's and attaching the DVD's to canvases posted around Los Angeles.

Very cool how this project combines the digital age with on the streets personal experience.  So, keep your eyes peeled to the streets and possibly your nieghborhood bar for LL's Shuttle Project Video cards.  Because you know that LOUDLABS is already out on the streets . . .

LOUDLABS Captures Michael Hastings Car Crash Death

LOUDLABS found itself smack in the middle of the Michael Hastings death conspiracy theories.

Michael Hastings was an investigative journalist who died at a fiery night time car crash at Melrose and Highland earlier this week.  Some conspiracy theorists have suggested that Michael was killed by shady government forces in response to the Michael's investigative reporting.

LOUDLABS was the first reporter to arrive at the crash scene, and LL says that it looks like high speed was the cause of this crash.  However, that hasn't stopped the conspiracy comments from both sides to keep piling up under the video.

What do folks think?  A crazy, random high speed crash on Melrose?  Or another terrifying example of the government silencing voices of opposition?

Teacher's Custom VFX Ebox Video

Brand new video showcasing Teacher's installation of his giant green screen ebox.  Teacher's ebox was meant to show solidarity with Hollywood VFX, or visual effects, department.  So it is only fitting that Teacher released a video capturing the installation action to accompany the piece.

Produced and filmed by LOUDLABS, this video captures the excited and nervous energy of a large scale street art installation.
