  1. So c'mon m&f what did you hear? Anything? We don't mind if it's just rumors and we know you get tons of emails and texts from people in the know! What do you think? Arrested? Just had to bolt? Surely if one piece got messed up he has others ready he could put up. What do you think happened? Is this the actual art? Just speculate! Or tell us what you know.

  6. "UPDATE, 12:30 p.m.: There's a rumor that Banksy was arrested around 6 a.m. this morning in the 79th Precinct. But an NYPD spokesman tells us that no one was arrested for anything involving graffiti in the 79th, and specifically stated that Banksy was not arrested." From the gothamist

  7. But before you go hounding the NYPD for clues as to the whereabouts of a poor, detained Banksy, you should take a deep breath and calm down. While an Instagram tipster may have alleged that the street artist was arrested at the 79th precinct in Brooklyn this morning, according to a representative at Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information, the story is false.

When asked whether or not an arrest had been made, the representative stated (after a lengthy hold) to The Huffington Post: "No, there's no arrest at the 79th precinct of this guy."

So there you have it. Feel free to wonder whether Banksy nearly evaded a run-in with police or he was just tired of 22 days of consecutive tagging. In other news, this website recently popped up, declaring #BANSKYLAX 2013. Is it real? Will Banksydom continue on the west coast? Or is a random Los Angeles resident with the ability to create a website just reaching for the stars?

  8. It wasn't the 79th, this was at one of the underground stations, he was painting the subway steps as a " stairway to lies" written ...little boy with teddy bear walking up,,1/2 finished,,,more like 1/3 finished

  9. I also got to see the "stairway to lies" that was around 4:45am, I didn't get to see who it was, the man had his face covered.

  10. Banksy is likely coming to LA in 2014. At the same time the @banksyny instagram was created, an @banksyla instagram was also created. The profile pic is a big ? and the bio says 2014 and lists' Banksy's website.

  11. Stairway to lies? Where? How come no one knows anything about this except anon commenters on this site? You saw it being painted and didn't take a photo? Um......right.

  12. There must not be any street art happening in LA. Or M&F is taking a internet surfing vacation.

  13. This is the art. He was not arrested. Banksy will be arrested on Halloween, as a part of a public performance piece, involving the NYP (who are in on it all) You heard it on M&F first!
